Lesson 3: She has to wear a uniform

A. Fill in blanks with have to or don't have to.

Dear Mike,

How are you? I have a holiday job working for my aunt and uncle. They own a restaurant called Arabian Nights here in Beirut.

It's hard work, but I enjoy it. I hate getting up early and this job I don't have to get up untile one in the afternoon.

You see I only have to be at work at three in the afternoon. I always have to work late - until midnight, in fact. But you know me - I don't get tired at night.

I have to wear a uniform, but I don't mind. It's white trousers and white T-shirt.

I'm a helper in the kitchen, so I have to help the cooks.

I don't have to cook anything. I just have to peel and chop vegetables, grate cheese and carrots....

I also have to do washing-up and clean the pots and pans. I'm not a waiter, so I don't have to lay the tables, serve the food or clean the tables.

My aunt and uncle have to stay an lock up the restaurant every night, so they can't leave until one in the morning and I have to wait for them.

Complete the sentences with mustn't or not have to.

3. You mustn't read my letters, They're private.

4. Halim is so lucky. He doesn't have to pay for plane tickket. His father is a pilot and gets free tickets.
