للجمل الشرطية مقطعان: جملة الشرط (if clause) وجملة جواب الشرط (main clause) فإذا تحقق الشرط سوف ينتج عنه شيء معين.

للجمل الشرطية 4 أنواع:

Zero Conditional

نستخدم هذا النوع من الجمل الشرطية للتحدث عن حقائق.

فإذا تحقق الشرط يجب أن يتحقق جواب الشرط.

If ice melts, it turns into water إذا ذاب الثلج يصبح ماء.

If you travel, you learn a lot about other countries إذا سافرت ستتعلم كثيراً عن البلدان الأخرى.

First Conditional

نستخدم هذا النوع من الجمل الشرطية للتحدث عن احتمالية حصول شيء بالمستقبل.

فإذا تحقق الشرط قد يتحقق جواب الشرط.

مثال عن كل حالة:

.If he gets a visa, he is going to leave next week

?If you pass, what will you do next year

.If you get here early, we can work on our projects together

.If you do that again, he may get really annoyed

.If it isn’t too hot tomorrow, I might play tennis

.If he asks you for money, you shouldn’t give him any

.If he gets a visa, he’s leaving next week

A. Match the sentence halves and complete the sentences. Add a comma (,) where (,) where necessary.
