A. Read the story below. Put words in the gaps to make it more interesting. (the story is true).

• One day a young man was walking in a lovely park in New York. It was summer and it was a beautiful day. He was near a huge lake. Suddenly he stopped.
• He couldn't believe his eyes!
• There was a dangerous crocodile in the water. He phoned the police on his mobile phone.
• He spoke very quickly. The police came with a fast boat and went up and down the lake.
• One was carrying a long rope. Another grabbed the crocodile by the tail and threw it into the boat.
• The crocodile climbed out of the boat easily.
• A lot of people were watching. They started to laugh loudly.
• The policemen caught the crocodile again, but it escaped.
• Nobody has seen the crocodile again.

B. Write your own short story. Choose one of these beginnings for a short story.

• The child and his mother
• When I was walking in the street with my aunt and her child yesterday.
• I saw something very funny. The curious child asked his mother (my aunt): "Mommy", why are some of your hairs turning grey?
• The mother tried to use this occasion to teach her child: "It is because of you, dear. Every bad action of yours will turn one of my hairs grey!"
• The child replied innocently: "Now I know why grandmother has only grey hairs on her head.
