  • نستخدم صيغ المقارنة للمقارنة بين شيئين.
  • نستخدم صيغ التفضيل للمقارنة بين شيء ومجموعة أشياء.

  • استخدم القاعدة رقم 1 عندما تكون الصفة مكونة من مقطع واحدة.
  • استخدم القاعدة رقم 2 عندما تكون الصفحة مكونة من مقطعين أو أكثر.

كيف أعرف أن الصفة مكونة من مقطع واحد أو مقطعين؟

من خلال حروف العلة ( a, i, e, o, u) الموجودة في الصفة فإذا كان هناك حرف علة واحدة في الصفة تسمى (صفة ذات مقطع واحد) ونستخدم معها القاعدة رقم 1.

.Ali is taller than me

.My mobile phone is bigger than yours

أما إذا كان هناك حرفي علة منفصلان عن بعضهما في الكلمة تسمى صفة ذات مقطعين فأما نستخدم القاعدة رقم 1 أو 2.

.History is more boring than Geography

.Travelling by car is more dangerous than travelling by plane

  • استخدم القاعدة رقم 1 عندما تكون الصفة مكونة من مقطع واحدة.
  • استخدم القاعدة رقم 2 عندما تكون الصفحة مكونة من مقطعين او أكثر.

I used to have a bicycle, but someone stole it last week.

4. She (not be) so thin, but she got very ill last year and lost a lot of weight.
She didn’t use to be so thin, but she got very ill last year and lost a lot of weight.

5. He (like) going out, but now he always wants to stay at home.
He used to like going out, but now he always wants to stay at home.

6. Cities (not be) polluted.
Cities did not use to be polluted.
